6 months later

it has been a good 6 months since our last visit to the centers for cancer and blood disorders.  i do not miss our weekly visits AT ALL, but i do miss all the friends we have made along this journey.  lily seemed a bit shy and stayed close to my lap and leg.  she did remember the 'treat room' where her favorite gummies and oreos are stored.  we have been cleared for another 6 months!  hip, hip hoary, we are ready to celebrate!

6 month MRI

Lily had her 6 month MRI scans on thursday.  we have become pros at the whole process, but the sick feeling in my stomach never goes away.  it never gets easy seeing her put to sleep.

her neuro-oncologist called me last night and the results are good.  the tumor is still there, it has not grown.  it is rare for this type of tumor to disappear completely, so i am happy with no growth.

none of this seems to phase her or slow her down at all.  this is how i found her sitting to watch tv with her brothers.  she did the whole set up by herself.  i just had to snap a quick picture before i took her off of her dangerous 'stack of seating' arrangement.  lol, this girl!

happy birthday benchmark

today we were greeted with balloons, dancing, music, party hats, special treats and much, much more.  i love this school, cant think of a better way to start off a friday!  its the schools 15 year birthday and there was a big celebration to be had.  i can't wait to hear how much fun they had when i pick them up.

9/11 remembrance

i could not make it for the ceremony, but love that every student created and hung a flag.  it took him all day, but logan found where his was hanging by the end of the day (last picture). 9/11 a day we will never forget.
