I remember learning to play chess as a young child ... and it isn't a game for a young child. It doesn't surprise me that you would have a chessboard for them already. I taught my 10-year old grand nephew how to place during the Thanksgiving holiday, 2010. This past Thanksgiving 2011 my sister-in-law warned me he already looked forward to playing another game when I visited. It turned out that he had continued his lessons with his friend's mother and he was very enthused. When I arrived for dinner he came outside to meet me at the car door!
Oh such concentration going on to determine which piece to move and where to move it. The mindful strategy being played on that board.
